Nike Air Force One sneakers: The Air Force 1 sneakers first came to life in 1982. Its name comes from the new Nike Air cushioning technology that the company patented the same year.

This ?Air? technology, for which Nike had exclusivity for 15 years, enabled them to manufacture sneakers at a previously unimaginable speed and quality, by using air at a high pressure. Other manufacturers finally managed to get their hand on this technique in 1997 when Nike?s patent expired.
