Store offers shoes of a different color : "I'm a firm believer that shoes make the outfit," said Star Pollard, owner of the new store, Stylin' Shoes by Star, inside Revelations Hair Salon and Beauty Supply, 1000 Kings Ave., Kingsland, on Georgia Route 40.

Pollard said she has always loved shoes, and after talking it over with her husband, she researched the idea of a shoe store.

That research led Pollard to a show in Atlanta where all of the wholesale dealers were pedaling their wares.

"I went and bought my stock," she said.

Pollard said she keeps more than 200 pairs of shoes in stock, and specifically sells the brands Nine West, J Renee and Bellini. She said she chose those brands because she wanted to mimic Phil's Shoe Store in Jacksonville, Fla., and so she could cater to all personalities.

J Renee, she said, is funky styles.
