The origin of Nike's logo

The swoosh logo that is now recognized by everyone, found on all Nike sneakers, was created in 1971 by a young student, Carolyn Davidson, for only 35$.

However, twelve years later she was fairly rewarded with a gold Swoosh ring with an imbedded diamond and a luncheon honoring her, along with an undisclosed amount of Nike stock, as recognition of her contribution to Nike's success.
