Nike Sneakers: Back in 1964, Bill Bowerman had the idea of producing cheap sports shoes that would be accessible to everyone. He was joined by Jeff Johnson and soon opened Nike's first retail store in Santa Monica, California.

The company was named after the Greek goddess of victory, suggesting the bright future to come.
